Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AnticipatoryGM (the “App”), the Microsoft Teams app operated by Anticipatory (“we”, “us”), collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use it. The App connects your Teams conversations to your account on the Anticipatory platform, so it works only for users who hold an Anticipatory account and sign in to it.

Information we collect

Microsoft Teams identifiers. Your Teams user ID, your tenant ID, the conversation and channel IDs where you use the App, and the Bot Framework service URL. We use these to reply to you and to send the notifications you ask for.
Messages and actions. The messages you send to the App, and the buttons you press on its cards.
Anticipatory sign-in tokens. When you sign in, we store the OAuth access and refresh tokens issued by the Anticipatory platform. This lets the App act on your behalf with the permissions you granted. We never see your password.
Preferences. The property you selected and your organisation and property identifiers.
Recent chat history. Up to the 20 most recent messages in each conversation (your questions and the App’s answers). This lets follow-up questions refer to earlier ones.
Alert subscriptions. The conversations that asked for alerts, and which alerts they have already received.
Feedback. The thumbs up or down you give on AI-generated answers, and any comment you add.
Files. Files you share with the App, such as STR reports, are passed to the Anticipatory platform to be processed. Documents the App creates for you, such as reports and decks, are held briefly on our server until they are delivered to you. Then they are deleted.

How we use information

To answer your questions and carry out the actions you ask for, using data from your Anticipatory account.
To send the notifications and alerts you subscribed to.
To operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the service. This includes reviewing feedback on AI answers.

We do not sell your information or use it for advertising. We do not use your messages to train AI models.

AI processing

Free-text questions are answered by a large language model. To produce an answer, we send your question, the recent chat history for that conversation and the relevant data from your Anticipatory account to an AI model provider (currently Anthropic, the provider of Claude). We send it through our own gateway. We use the provider under terms that do not allow it to train on this data. AI-generated answers are labelled in Teams and can be wrong, so check important figures before you act on them. Any action that moves money or publishes content shows a preview and waits for your confirmation.

Sharing

The Anticipatory platform (anticipatory.com), which holds your account and property data. It is governed by your agreement with Anticipatory.
Microsoft, which carries messages between Teams and the App through the Bot Framework. This is governed by Microsoft’s own terms and privacy statement.
Our AI model provider, as described above.
Authorities, where the law requires it.

Storage, security and retention

Data is stored on our own servers. It is sent over HTTPS, and requests from Teams are authenticated with Microsoft’s signed tokens. Only authorised Anticipatory staff can access the server.

Sign-in tokens are kept until you sign out or delete your data. Access tokens expire on their own schedule.
Chat history is limited to the most recent 20 messages per conversation.
Unfinished sign-in attempts are deleted automatically.
Service logs may include short excerpts of messages for troubleshooting. We delete them regularly.

Your choices and rights

Type logout to sign out. This revokes your tokens with the Anticipatory platform and deletes them from the App.
Type delete my data to sign out and permanently delete everything the App stores about you: tokens, preferences, chat history, alert subscriptions and feedback.
You can remove the App from Teams at any time. Your Teams administrator can also block or remove it for your organisation.
To access, correct or delete your data, email us at the address below. This includes data held in your Anticipatory account and requests made under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA or similar laws.

Children

The App is a business tool. It is not meant for anyone under 18.

We will update this page, and the date at the top, if these practices change.
